A Distinctive Entrance Made of Fabricated Aluminium
Acorn Metal partnered with a prominent Australian artist in the construction of an art installation at the entrance to one of Western Australia’s prominent Universities.
The artwork titled ‘Enter Out’ located at Murdoch University connects a once ‘dull’ passageway between Bush Court and the University’s Winter Garden next to the campus’s student hub.
An Entrancing Experience
Commissioned by the University back in 2018, the design utilises 42 different colours in a pattern that reflects that of a rainbow. Stretching the height of the building ‘Enter Out’ was designed to represent the experience of ‘travel and arrival’ with the goal of transporting the visitors into another space as the University’s students arrive on campus and enter into a new world of education and knowledge.
Uniquely Fabricated
Acorn’s professional and experienced team was tasked with creating each of the artwork’s 700 aluminium blades, each of which had to be individually shaped into a unique design, before finally being installed, scaling the walls at the campus in a way that represents a continuous rippling effect. The blades were constructed using Acorn’s CNC turrets and benders which can be used on a wide range of metal sheeting with a capability of up to 5mm gauge sheet size in Aluminium and 3mm gauge sheet size in Mild and Stainless Steel.
Experts in Metal Fabrication
The artwork, which was commissioned by Murdoch University back in 2018 is just one example of the work that proves that when it comes to Metal Fabrication, Acorn Metal are the experts. With a highly qualified team and a factory that carries the latest range of sheet bending technology, Acorn is the team that you should contact to make your next project a reality.
