At Acorn Metal, we pride ourselves on our advanced metal rolling capabilities, equipped with a range of specialised machinery and a team skilled and trained in handling a variety of materials and project requirements. Here’s a closer look at what we offer:

Machinery Overview

Large Motorised Roller

Our large motorised rollers are the most utilised in our metal rolling operations. They are equipped to handle substantial rolling tasks with precision and efficiency. These machines are designed to process a wide range of metal widths (up to 3mm Steel & 5mm Aluminum) and thicknesses (up to 1200mm wide), making them ideal for varied projects, from industrial components to architectural metalwork.

Key Features:

  • Versatility: Capable of working with materials like stainless steel, aluminium, and some other alloys, our motorised rollers are adaptable for multiple industries, including construction, aerospace, and automotive.
  • Precision Control: Advanced control systems regulate speed and pressure, ensuring accurate curvature and preserving material integrity during the rolling process.
  • Efficiency: Built for high throughput and minimal downtime, our rollers increase productivity while upholding high standards of quality.
  • Safety: Equipped with essential safety features such as emergency stops and safety guards, these machines prioritise operator protection and ergonomic operation.

Hand Metal Rollers

Ideal for projects that require meticulous attention to detail and handling of lighter gauge materials, our hand rollers provide precision on a smaller scale. These tools are essential for achieving fine craftsmanship and customisation. However, it’s crucial to understand that their capabilities are limited by specific tolerances, which we assess on a job-by-job basis to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Features:

  • Precision Handling: Ideal for intricate tasks, our hand rollers provide exceptional control over delicate materials, ensuring precise outcomes for custom metal rolling.
  • Versatility: While designed for smaller-scale projects, these rollers can still manage a variety of materials, adjusting seamlessly to meet specific project requirements.
  • Adaptability: Each job is assessed for tolerances and material specifications to optimise results, ensuring the hand rollers are perfectly suited for the task at hand.
  • Compact Design: Their smaller size allows for greater maneuverability and flexibility within our workshop, facilitating complex shaping processes where larger machines may not be feasible.

Custom Metal Rolling Solutions

Our project portfolio includes a variety of applications that demonstrate our versatility. A standout example is the rolling of thin-gauge stainless steel into precise flue pipes. This process not only requires meticulous attention to detail to maintain the integrity of the material but also demands a deep understanding of how to achieve the best functional and aesthetic outcomes. Photos of these projects, available on our website, illustrate the high quality of work we are committed to delivering.

At Acorn Metal, we understand that no two projects are the same. We offer extensive customisation options to meet diverse industry needs. Whether it’s adjusting the metal type, thickness, or the rolling technique itself, our team is equipped to provide solutions tailored to each client’s specifications. This flexibility allows us to undertake unique projects such as custom tube rolling, intricate steel rolling, or specific plate rolling tasks.

Flexible Service Options

Whether you need metal rolling as an integral part of a larger project or as a specific, isolated service, Acorn Metal is equipped to provide solutions that meet your needs. We understand that every project is unique, and our services are designed to be as flexible and adaptable as the materials we work with.

No matter the material or complexity of your project, our team at Acorn Metal is here to help you achieve your manufacturing goals with precision and excellence. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements and to see how our metal rolling services can contribute to the success of your next project.

Stainless Steel and Aluminum are two of the most commonly used materials in our metal rolling operations. For instance, we frequently roll 0.55mm stainless steel sheets into flue pipes of precise specifications. Stainless steel offers durability and resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for both industrial and consumer applications. Aluminum, known for its lightweight and malleability, is another versatile option, suitable for a range of applications from automotive parts to architectural features.

While we typically shy away from dedicated cone rolling, as we do not have a dedicated cone roller. We can, however, accommodate these requests through custom fabrication on a job-by-job basis. We can utilise our press brakes, also known as benders, to form some cones and radiuses through a process commonly referred to as bump bending.

Currently, we do not offer plate metal rolling services. Our machinery setup is tailored primarily for other types of metal fabrication processes. However, we are committed to meeting our client's needs and can often outsource to reliable partners who specialise in plate rolling. To discuss alternative solutions that might suit your project requirements, please feel free to contact us.

At this time, Acorn Metal does not have the CNC rolling capabilities within our machinery portfolio. Our CNC machinery is limited to other applications. We understand the importance of this service and are more than happy to complete projects that require it by connecting you with specialised providers in this field. Please reach out for further information.

Currently, metal roll-forming services are not part of the offerings at Acorn Metal due to our specialised focus on other metal fabrication techniques and the limitations of our current equipment setup. Roll-forming requires specialised machinery so, if it is essential for your project, our trusted industry colleagues with the required high-quality machinery can handle this step.

No, SHS and PFC are structural steel sections and cannot be rolled on-site. They are pre-manufactured in specific sizes and shapes. SHS and PFC are hollow sections commonly used in construction projects for columns, beams, and other structural elements. They offer good strength-to-weight ratios and are readily available in various standard sizes.

Specialty materials like Rimex, known for its distinctive textured finishes, may require special handling to maintain the integrity of the surface finish. Such materials are assessed on a job-by-job basis to ensure that our rolling techniques are perfectly suited to the material characteristics.
