Sheet Metal Bending

Premium Sheet Metal Folders and Brakes for Bending Metal

We have invested in the best machinery available. We only use quality sheet metal brakes and metal folders to provide the bending solutions that our clients seek. Our Amada EG-6013 press brake is ready to process complex components to the highest standard.

Our team has years of experience working with metal brakes and folders to facilitate the bending of various metals such as aluminium, steel, stainless steel, zinc, brass, and more. We can perform metal bending services on virtually any metal!

The Metal Bending Process

Sheet metal bending refers to the process of shaping and forming metals using metal brake presses, sheet metal folders, metal rollers and other industrial machinery. Through the use of these machines, we can create accurate and precise metal bends in shapes that benefit a huge range of applications. Whether it’s steel bending, aluminium bending or intricate shape forming, we can do it all.

Sheet metal bending can be used to create a wide range of shapes and angles, providing excellent structural integrity. With our precise bending techniques, your finished product is guaranteed to have a sleek and refined appearance.

  • Material Loading: Sheet metal is correctly aligned and positioned before being loaded into the press brake.
  • Tool Selection: An Appropriate tool is selected based on the desired bend type.
  • Programming: The press brake is programmed according to the material type, thickness, bend angles, and bend sequence.
  • Execution: Bends are executed using controlled force to form metal into precise angles or profiles.
  • Inspection: Bent components are inspected for dimensional accuracy, bend angle consistency, and surface finish.
  • Organisation: Finished parts are organised for additional processing such as welding, assembly, or surface treatment.

Why Acorn Metal

  • Diverse Customisation Options: We can create a wide range of shapes and angles, including V-bends, U-bends, and multiple bends in a single piece of metal.
  • Extensive Manufacturing Range: We can manufacture a range of items from large parts to intricate components.
  • Structural Integrity: Our metalworking process ensures excellent structural integrity, reducing the need for additional welding or fasteners.

We can bend sheet metal up to 3000mm in length with maxium tonnage 140T. In terms of thickness, we typically handle steel/stainless steel up to 3mm and aluminium or other soft metals up to 5mm.

We regularly bend mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and galvanised sheet metal. The exact capacity depends on the thickness and hardness of the material.

Our Armada press brake operations typically achieve bending tolerances within ±0.2mm, depending on material, tooling, and bend geometry. We monitor accuracy throughout the forming process.

A press brake is a precision machine that bends sheet metal along a straight axis. It uses a punch-and-die setup to apply controlled force to form a porecise angle that stays stable across repeated cycles. The geometry forms through direct mechanical contact.

Roll forming runs as a continuous process. Long metal strips pass through consecutive rollers, each station adjusting the profile until the final cross-section holds its shape over long lengths. It's methodical and ideal for batch production of linear parts.

Sheet metal bending increases strength without adding much mass, and that shift lets a panel carry more load with the same amount of material. The need for fastener insertion drops since shaped geometry can support itself. Clean angles give products a sharper fit, and repeatable bends keep tolerances low. It enables clean lines and aesthetic appearance with improved structural integrity and rigidity.
